Peace Be With You! (Sunday, 18th of September 2016)

Peace Be With You! This Week’s Devotion is on a reading on how to act and pray … for men. That’s where the Reading in the Catholic Lectionary ends. Please read it. It certainly speaks for itself. And let Peace Be With You!

At the end I have added a link about the behaviour of women. Paul deals with this in the remainder of the chapter.

1. Tim. 2: 1 to 8:

[1] I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; [2] For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. [3] For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; [4] Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

[5] For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; [6] Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. [7] Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity. [8] I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

Peace Be With You!

However, have a look at what Paul said how women should act. Many hold the remainder of the chapter against our faith. They say it is sexist. It certainly originates from gender roles. Was it that one morning some men woke up and decided, from today on we will suppress women!? Where did gender roles come from? Can they be overcome today? Can women act like men? Do all modern women act like men?

Have a look whether there ever will be Emancipation in the Church? Would that mean that half of all priests are women? Will we one day have a popess?

Peace Be With You

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
